The Background
Mike Carroll, founder of The Pharmacist Panel (TPP), identified a talent supply shortage in pharmacies across Ireland. Regulatory changes and Covid-19 had a significant impact on the pharmacist supply market and led to a huge shortage of qualified pharmacists in Ireland. A portion of the overseas pharmacists returned to their native country once the pandemic commenced. Coupled with the fact that overseas pharmacists were unable to migrate to Ireland with Government restrictions in place. TPP needed to help recruit pharmacists from abroad and support overseas candidates in achieving the necessary accreditations required to work in Ireland. We needed a scalable pharmacist recruitment technology solution to do this.
The Problem
Mike recognised the urgent need to support the pharmacist industry and created a business plan to enter the market as a niche Pharmacist Recruitment specialist. Equally, he saw an opportunity to help recruit pharmacists from abroad and support overseas candidates in achieving the necessary accreditations required to work in Ireland. This would be critical to help stabilize the market again.
The Project
TPP selected TEKenable Group as its preferred solution provider because of its experience and marketplace expertise. TEKenable Group proposed Salesforce as the ideal platform for this solution. Working closely with TPP, TEKenable Group built a fit for purpose Salesforce solution leveraging the sales cloud module and experience cloud which allowed TPP to enter the market in a matter of months which was essential to help an industry in dire need of qualified pharmacists. The solution includes a public website, and a self-service portal that both candidates and clients alike can access to manage vacancies and vacancy applications.
This pharmacist recruitment technology solution was scalable and could be extended into other areas outside pharmacy as part of a Stage 2 development for the platform. Salesforce was used to allow the management of the recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and ongoing management of placed candidates all on the one platform that is easily scalable. This included a public website, and a self-service portal that both candidates and clients alike could access to manage vacancies and vacancy applications, meaning TPP could deliver at scale with fewer human resources.
Outcome
The low-code software ensured that the client could enter the market in a matter of months which was essential to help an industry in dire need of qualified pharmacists.
The solution is fully scalable to support business growth and diversification beyond pharmaceuticals. Over 900 Pharmacies are using The Pharmacist Panel’s Cloud Technology Solution for the supply of Registered Pharmacists and Locums to Pharmacies in Ireland.
